-
DescriptionPptT inhibitor 8918 (Compound 8918) is a mycobactericidal amidino-urea compound that targets phosphopantetheinyl transferase (PptT, IC50=2.5 uM), shows an MIC90 of 3.1 uM against Mtb H37Rv; also exhibits MIC90s ranged from 0.56-3.0 uM (median 1.5 uM) against 29 clinical isolates of Mtb; inhibits growth of WT Mtb, but not of the pptT mutant W170S or WT Mtb expressing the pptT W170S mutant; kills Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) by binding and partially inhibiting PptT.
